Reiki is a Japanese technique using the practitioner's hands placed on or slightly above the client's body as they lay on a massage table to facilitate a relaxed state and thereby allowing the body to heal itself. The client is fully clothed except for shoes and dangling jewelry. It is advised that the client wear comfortable clothing that is not too tight so as not to impede free movement. The Reiki portion of the session can take between 40 minutes to an hour depending on the energy intake of the client. Time is allowed after to process the experience and give feedback regarding what can be done to improve a situation. There may be images, feelings or thoughts that are brought up during the session by the client or the practitioner. These can be discussed and their meaning may be revealed. Most people feel lightheaded when finished and very relaxed. Intake of water provided afterward is a must. This helps to flush toxins that are released during the session and replenish the body from the energetic movement. Total time 1 1/2 hrs
